About me

It’s true; I love a good spreadsheet! In fact, I get a buzz out of any tool or system that improves the way things are done. Whether that’s automating complex, manual tasks or developing bespoke tools that plug ideas together in new ways, I’m drawn to challenges that require innovative thinking.

I started out in the physical sciences, obtaining my PhD in chemistry from the University of Cambridge in 2010. From there I moved into environmental modelling, where I spent more than a decade developing my coding and numerical skills through solving problems in environmental risk assessment. I started Spreadsheet Joy in 2023.
